HEFFERNAN, Alice Marie (Nee Hogan) (Retired St. Joseph's Hospital Employee, Nursing Service Administration Graduate of Western University and Pediatrics Post Graduate course in Washington, D.C.)

Passed away peacefully with family by her side, at Rubidge Retirement Residence, on Friday, January 14, 2022 in her 90th year.  Beloved wife of 45 years of the late Vincent Thomas Heffernan (d. 2014).  Alice and Vince were longtime residents on the family farm on Drummond Line. Alice was fiercely interested in political issues and always ready for a good debate. Alice was a long term serving member and held many roles within the CWL. She was deeply devoted to her faith, her family and the need for others as was demonstrated by her works of charity and volunteerism, especially her devotion to St. Vincent de Paul Society. Predeceased by her loving parents Austin Hogan and Mary Fitzgerald, sister Agnes Steffler (Bill), and brothers Brother Edward (Fergus) Hogan, Brother Nicholas (Vincent) Hogan, Gerard (Rita), Joseph (Leverne), Francis (Fern) and Redmond Hogan (Audrey).  Dear sister-in-law of Reverend Father Raymond Heffernan, Clotilde Quinn (late Gerald), predeceased by Marie Moher (Richard), Marguerite Sullivan (Cletus), and Frank Heffernan (Marie). Alice will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Sacred Heart Church, 208 Romaine St., Peterborough. The Mass will be livestreamed via Duffus Funeral Home's Facebook page. Covid restrictions require all attendees to RSVP at Duffus Funeral Home at 705-745-4612 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.  Face covering is mandatory for all attending.   Burial will take place in the Spring 2022. In memory of Alice, donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society (Sacred Heart/St John's conference) or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
