CALLAGHAN, Anne Marie Passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, November 26, 2021 in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Michael Callaghan d. June 4, 1994. Loving mother of Barbara and husband Raymond Powers, Sheila and husband Terry Keating, and Michael Callaghan. Dear grandmother of Laurie Powers (Hap Sneddon), Ryan Powers (Tara), Sarah Powers (Shane Dow), Alexandra Powers, Michael Keating (Andréa), Patrick Keating (Kate) and Matthew Keating (Dionné). Dear great grandmother of Nevae, Lola, Broghan, Lochlin, Faolan, Callaghan, Teddy, J.T., Axelle, Steven, Charlie and Levi. Dear aunt of many nieces and nephews and their families in Ireland. Predeceased by her parents James McMahon and Elizabeth Sullivan and sisters Sheila and Theresa and a brother Dennis. Anne was born in Dublin, Ireland and imigrated to Canada in 1948. On February 19, 1949, she married Michael Callaghan (also from Ireland) at St. Peter's Cathedral. Anne and Michael were one of the founding families of the Greenhill Subdivision on Nevin Avenue where she resided until her passing. After Anne raised her three children, she was a dedicated babysitter to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a dedicated employee at St. Joseph's Hospital Linen and later with Kawartha Hospital Linen. Special thanks to Dr. Atfield, Pam Sinacori, Dr. Lehman-Bender, and Sylvie from St. Elizabeth Health Care who were very kind and compassionate in their care of Anne during her illness allowing her to remain in her home until her passing. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be a Private Family Funeral Mass at ST. ALPHONSUS LIGUORI CHURCH on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Interment at St. Peter's Cemetery. Donations to Hemophilia Ontario (Toronto and Central East) or Kawartha Food Share would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to DUFFUS FUNERAL HOME, 705-745-4612.
