Obituary

GAINEY, Anne Loretta, (née Crowley) peacefully, and in God's time, on May 15, 2016, in her 97th year. Anne was a loving wife to George Thomas Gainey (2000), for over 50 years. Together they raised their 7 children, Paul, Maureen (Rob Newby), Carol (Mike Moher), Robert (Catherine predeceased), Christopher (Caroline), Mary (Jim Lanfranchi) and Janice (David Holmquist). Anne loved her 32 grandchildren, Bridget (Herb) Gainey, Karolyne, Kris, Matthew (Jennifer), David, Kyle, Kathleen and Andrew Newby, Sean (Stacey), Kerry (Aleta), Catherine (Matthew Charbonneau), Mark, and Robert (Tammy) Moher, Anna (Thomas Pitfield), Stephen (Mikayla), Laura (predeceased), and Colleen (Greg McCutcheon) Gainey, Liam (Ksenia), Teresa, Madeleine, John Paul, Joseph, Maria, Thomas, and Hugh Gainey, Jarret Eyamie, Christina, Julia, Ian, Kevin, Grace and Margaret Holmquist, and her 14 great grandchildren, Henry Newby, Charlie, Maddy, and Sam Moher, Sophie and Olivia Moher, Isaac and Hugh Charbonneau, Jackson, Ryan and Audrey Pitfield, Molly and Shea Gainey, and Fisher McCutcheon. Anne is predeceased by her parents Albert and Theresa (McMartin) Crowley. She is survived by her brother Dick (Evelyn predeceased) and predeceased by her brothers and their wives, George (Eileen), John (Margaret) and Robert (Zita), and infant sister Lorraine. Anne loved her family. She was never happier than when her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were close by. She was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Parish for over 70 years. Anne prayed for much of her adult life to have her mind until she died and was given this singular grace. Special thank you to Father Bill Moloney, Dr. Robert Neville, Deb Chrysler, Rosa Velado, Carol Gillis, Crystal Hale, Leah Ann Kellar and Liz Roberts for the loving care they showered on Anne.

Visitation at DUFFUS FUNERAL HOME, 431 George Street South from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2016. (Parish Prayers 3 p.m. Thursday). Funeral Mass will be celebrated at IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 10 a.m. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery.
