MULLINS, Benedict Joseph (Joe) (March 30, 1924 – August 13, 2022)

Passed away peacefully at Fairhaven Home, on Saturday, August 13, 2022 in his 99th year. Predeceased by the love of his life Mary C. (Byromshaw), his son Gordon Peter, his parents Frederick Percival and Anne Josephine (Simeons), his brothers Louis, infant John, Stanley, John, and Donald and his sisters Grace Emery and Joan Johnson. Survived by his son Glen Michael (Mary), his daughter Cheryl Anne Stabler (Jim), daughter-in-law Lynn, grandchildren Melissa Lalande (Robb), Jennifer Heard (Adam), Sarah Mullins (Chris Jupp) and 8 great-grandchildren Jacob, Riley, Chiara, Grace, Victoria, Nolan, Maxwell, and Ellen, his sisters Doreen Seston, Theresa White and Eileen Nichau, his sister-in-law Arnie Nanavati and his brother-in-law Mervin Johnson. Joe came to Canada in 1953 paving the way for his family. As a wireless technician, he secured a job with CP Telecommunications which later became CNCP and he stayed loyal to them for his entire career of over 35 years.  Joe was well respected by family, friends and acquaintances being always kind, respectful and generous to others. Joe said there are three great things that he did in his life – marry the girl of his dreams, have three wonderful children and move to Canada. Joe was in the reserves ready to take up arms for this country that he loved during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Of course in his lifetime he did many more great things and he will be dearly missed. A special thank you to his granddaughter Jennifer Heard who looked after him for the past ten years and thank you to the staff at Fairhaven Home in Peterborough where he resided the last two years.
