After a lengthy post-op recovery, Bernie passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his loving family at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, on Saturday, August 29, 2015 in his 60th year. Beloved husband and soulmate of Cathy Lessard (nee Sloan). Predeceased by son Joey. Poppa to family dogs Boo and Bear. Loving son of Bernard and Mary Lessard of Peterborough and dear son-in-law of Jim and Melba Sloan of Lakefield. Dear brother of Joan McMillan (Peter), Judy Cleary (late Peter), Marlene Bowman (Earl), and Jackie Lessard (Brett). Beloved brother-in-law of Karen Haryett (Kelly) and Gayle Reichert (Gerhard). Favourite uncle Bernie of 18 nieces and nephews, 21 great nieces and nephews, and 3 great-great nieces.

Visitation at DUFFUS FUNERAL HOME, 431 George Street South from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2015. Funeral Mass at the CATHEDRAL OF ST. PETER-IN-CHAINS on Friday, September 4, 2015 at 2 p.m. Reception to follow in the Bishop Doyle Knights of Columbus Hall. Interment at Lakefield Cemetery.
