Having been in the loving care at home with his family for over 20 months, Bernard Gregory Clancy is now in the care of his Heavenly Father as of October 9, 2022. Born May 25, 1934 to Mary and Fergus Clancy of Otonabee South Monaghan Township. Married June 28, 1958 to his loving wife of 64 years – Patricia Ann (McDougall). Respected and loved by his five children and their spouses – Karen (Bill Belanger), Mary (Hugh Bougie), John (Sandra Cornwell), Peter (Wanda Hutchinson) and Mark (Leah MacIntosh). Proud grandpa to 11 grandchildren and PaPa GiGi to 14 great grandchildren. Bernard was a dear brother to + Fred (Jean Condon), Marion (+ Bud McDougall), + Jim (Carol Virgin) and + Helen (+ Arnold Condon). A brother in law to + Mary (+ Bob Curtis), Ann (Bob Webdale) and + Bud (Marion Clancy). His life on earth was blessed with many gifts which he shared unselfishly with all who asked of him. Employed by the Outboard Marine for 38 years. He felt honoured to be a Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, a volunteer fireman for Otonabee South Monaghan Township, a farmer, a junior hockey coach and an expert in many trades. Bernard celebrated at home with many gatherings of family and friends. Canadian flags fly on industrial flag poles that he fashioned for some of his friends and family representing his love of his country. Rest in peace, Bernard, thou good and faithful servant. Gratitude to all those who helped in any way while Bernard was ill.
The holy sacrifice of the Mass will be celebrated by Monsignor Michael Heffernan at Our Lady of Assumption Church, Otonabee on Monday, October 17, 2022 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow at Our Lady of Assumption Parish Hall. Private family interment at St. Peter's Cemetery. Please do one good deed to honor Bernard's life.
