GOUDY, Byron
After a very long brave and courageous battle, the family of Byron Goudy sadly announces his passing at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Palliative Care on Friday, May 26, 2017 in his 71st year. Byron received his Chartered Accountant Degree in 1969 and in 1976 moved on to be the Proud Owner of Outram Fuels in Lindsay for 41 years. Before his passing, Byron said "I leave behind my much loved wife and devoted caregiver Theresa (nee Murray), my wonderful children - daughter Janet, husband Mike Craig, grandsons Jack and Alex, son Jason, wife Shawna and grandson Lucas." Byron was the son of the late Tom and Ethel Goudy and son-in-law of the late Frank and Rhena Murray. Brother of Verla Goudy (Marvin) and Myrna Goudy. Proud brother-in-law to Sharon Murray (late Bill), Barb Scott (friend Terry), Adele Brioux (Bill), the late Maureen Simpson, Lois Baker (Al), Jane Murray (Dale), Michele Bagshaw (John), Bonnie Sullivan (Bruce), Denise Scully (Dennis). Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Byron enjoyed golf and was an active member for many years of Peterborough Golf and Country Club. He was an avid hockey player throughout his life and passed on his skills to his grandsons who were his pride and joy as he was able to cheer them on at their games in his later years. He loved to travel and thoroughly enjoyed his many summers on the boat, so much so that he named it "QuytaLife". Byron received excellent care and the family would like to thank all of the many Doctors, Nurses and Staff at the PRHC Dialysis Unit at PRHC as well as Dr Swain and his team at PRHC Oncology for their compassionate care shown to him. Byron chose to spend his last few days at PRHC, Pallitaive Care Unit. Special thanks to good friends Dr. Don and Margaret Thompson, Fred and Susan Czestiakow and Oliver and Ann Doyle. Special thanks also to Peter and his staff at Duffus Funeral Home for their compassionate care.
