Peacefully at his residence on Thursday, May 10, 2012 in his 94th year. Beloved husband of June Tripp and the late Jean Tripp(nee Dewar). Loving father of Griffith (Patricia) of Victoria B.C., Linda (Edward) Lawrence of Fraserville, Frances Morton of Belleville, and Neil Tripp of Peterborough. Dear grandfather of Shawn (Nicole), Keri (Gene), Laura Jean (David), Bradley (Sue), Amy (Iain), Stephanie (Steve) and Rachel (Jay). Proud great grandfather of Graden, Nolan, Ella, Devon, Sean, Libby, Allen, Gareth, Violet, Kenzie, Jena, Eoghan and Tierney. Dear brother of Jack Tripp of Oakwood, Martha Bremner of Whitby, Robert (Freda) Tripp of Toronto, Bessie Higgins of Bobcaygeon, and Hazel Armstrong of Lindsay. Pre-deceased by his parents John Tripp and Frances Armitage, brothers Stephen Tripp and Melvin Tripp, and sister Beatrice Armstrong.

Cliff was born in Asquith Saskatchewan 4 September 1918; two years later the family moved to the Bancroft area where he grew up. He then joined the Airforce during WWII spending his enlistment based at Gander Newfoundland flying as part of the Sea and Air Rescue Squadron beginning a lifelong relationship with the Air Force Club. The Masonic Lodge and the Anglican Church were major influences in his life attending and adhereing to both right up to the end.

His family was the centre of Dad's life so when it came to work, he was willing to do what ever had to be done or was available to be done to support his family. He lent his brain and brawn to many tasks including many years with GM until he embarked on his real joy of selling real estate starting with Bowes & Cocks and retiring as an independent broker.
He loved to visit family and friends, whether it was across the street, across town or across the country. The great pleasure of maintaining contact with family and a large collection of friends and acquaintances was, of late, bittersweet as the remaining number of contemporaries dwindled. His grandchildren will always remember his harmonica playing, his recitation of Robert Service poetry, organizing treasure hunts and story telling. Recreationally he still thoroughly enjoyed a game of snooker or cribbage and story telling having given up writing letters to the Editor a few years ago.

Visitation at ST JOHN'S ANGLICAN CHURCH, IDA from 1-2 p.m. Monday May 14, 2012. Funeral Service following in the Church on Monday, May 14, 2012 at 2 p.m. Interment at St. John's Cemetery, Ida.
