Obituary

LODZINSKI, Danuta Lucia - Passed away peacefully at Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga on Thursday, April 1, 2010, in her 86th year. Loving wife of the late Andrzej Lodzinski. Beloved mother of Dr. Adam Lodzinski of Toronto and Barbara (Michael) Palmer of Kingston. Dear grandmother of Monika Lodzinski of Toronto. Pre-deceased by her parents Karol Kasinski and Janina Janulewicz. Born in Poland, Danuta was a professional photographer and ceramic artist who emigrated to Canada in 1954. She was admired in Peterborough for her talent and creativity with pottery and silk painting and was active in the community with The Polish Combatants' Association in Canada and The Catholic Women's League of Canada. She worked at the Land Registry Office of Peterborough until retiring in 1983. She then moved to Sherbrooke Heights in Peterborough and later to Wawel Villa in Mississauga. She embraced Canada with all of her heart and was very proud of her Polish heritage. We will miss her deeply.

She loved all creatures great and small and as expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Peterborough Humane Society through the DUFFUS FUNERAL HOME, 431 George Street South, Peterborough, 705-745-4612, with whom the arrangements have been entrusted. Friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, 386 Rogers Street on Monday, April 12, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery.
