Peacefully at Extendicare, Peterborough on Sunday, August 9, 2009, one day after his 88th birthday. Beloved husband of Betty (nee McMahon). Loving father of Linda Vitarelli of Bowmanville. Dear brother of Rose Chimenti and dear brother-in-law of Irene Vitarelli, Thelma Vitarelli and Josephine Vitarelli. Dear uncle of several nieces and nephews and their families. Pre-deceased by his parents Joseph Vitarelli and Johanna Luisi, brothers Edward (Ned) (late wife Thelma), Philip (Pete), Louis and Anthony Vitarelli and sister Jenny Pastore (late husband Anthony).

Visitation at DUFFUS FUNERAL HOME, 431 George Street South from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. (Parish Prayers 8 p.m. Wednesday). Funeral Mass in ST. ANNE'S CHURCH on Thursday, August 13, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. Reverend William Moloney officiating. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery. Reception to follow at St. Anne's Parish Hall. In memory of Dootch, donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Peterborough and District Sports Hall of Fame would be appreciated by the family.
