STRANO, Dorothy Jean

Passed away peacefully at Pleasant Meadow Manor, Norwood on January 16, 2022 in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Vincent (Vince) Strano d. March 27, 1993. Loving mother of Barry Strano, Harry Richard Strano, Vincent Paul Strano Jr., Peter Strano and Catherine Ann Kingdon. Dear grandmother of Dee, Jenny, Jay, Laurie, Brett, Tara, Jeff, Blake, Samantha, Scott, Robbie, Leigh, Amorina and Wesley. Dear great grandmother of nineteen great grandchildren. Precedeased by her parents Frederick Bulled and Katherine Tucker and her sisters Marion Moore and Alice Wilson. Jean was born in Eden, New York. Her family returned to Canada in 1934. Jean and husband Vince raised their family in Peterborough's "north end".  Jean was a longtime member of Kawartha Golf and Country Club and a lifelong cottager at Jack Lake, Apsley. Jean loved Sunday Mass, Friday hair appointments, a good round of golf, a good hand of cards but above all her family and friends. Everyone she met was touched by her strength, humour, and desire to live life to its fullest.  Jean is deeply loved and will be missed more than words can say.  A special thanks to Mom's many wonderful care workers/givers at her home, at Rubidge Retirement Residence and at Pleasant Meadow Manor.
