Peacefully at home on June 30, 2009, surrounded by her family, in her 93rd year. Loving wife of the late Peter James Ayotte. Loving mother of Peter (Carole), Barbara (Tom) Shortridge of Kaleden, B.C., and Bill (Ellie), Paul (Mardi), Peggy (Mike) McGrath, Mary (Tom)Cullen, Dan (Ceilia), John (Karen), Mike (Theresa) of Guelph, Tim (Sherrie), and Steve (Marni) of Peterborough. Cherished grandmother of 25 grandchildren and great grandmother (GiGi) to 20 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Joan Caravaggie of Peterborough and Nan Bedding of Ottawa and sister-in-law of Muriel Scollard and Maimie Radey of Peterborough.Lovingly remembered by her extended family, the Shortridge family of B.C. Cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews. She also leaves to mourn her loss many dear friends, Pre-deceased by her parents William Scollard and Catherine Harrington, sisters Mary Denault, Bernadine Thomas, and Agnes McGillen, and brothers Jim, Bill, Claire, Paul and Gordon. Beloved sister-in-law of the late Peg and Joe McCarthy.
Visitation at DUFFUS FUNERAL HOME, 431 George Street South from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. (Parish Prayers 7:30 p.m. Friday) Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church on Saturday, July 4, 2009 at 11 a.m. Reverend Marek Ignaszewski officiating. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery. Donations to St. Vincent de Paul (Immaculate Conception) or the Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Doug Turner, her family doctor, and to Dr. Beamish of Palliative Care.
