LECOUR, Georgina Josephine (nee Rooney)
Peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Peterborough on Sunday, December 14, 2014, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of Glendon (Glen) Lecour for 65 years. Loving mother of Linda Ross and Glenda (Ted) Hunter of Peterborough, Carolyn (Steve) Westington of Bailieboro, and Diane, deceased. Much loved by her grandchildren Dave and Mark Ross of Peterborough and Holly and Stephanie Westington (friend Adam) of Bailieboro. Survived by her sister Mary (husband Reg deceased) McInnis of PEI. Sadly missed by her brothers-in-law Barry (Gisele) Lecour of Peterborough, Emmett (Lois) Lecour of Ottawa, and sisters-in-law Emerilda (Ray) Belanger of Thunder Bay, Marlene (Don) Cundall of Pennsylvania and June (husband Lynwood deceased). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Jack Rooney and Lillian (Dreelan); brothers Michael, Leo, William, James and John and sisters Ida Morrissey, Patricia Kluke and Dorothy Kennedy. Georgina was a lifetime member of the CWL of the Cathedral of St. Peter-in-Chains and was a recipient of a Bene Merenti medal in recognition of her service to her church, bestowed upon her by St. John Paul II on September 10, 1989.

Friends will be received at DUFFUS FUNERAL HOME, 431 George Street South, Peterborough from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2014. (Parish Prayers 3:30 p.m. Thursday). Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 10 a.m. at CATHEDRAL OF ST. PETER-IN-CHAINS, 297 Hunter Street West, Peterborough. Interment at St. Peter's Cemetery, 870 High Street, Peterborough followed by a reception at Bishop Doyle Knights of Columbus Hall, 317 Hunter Street West, Peterborough.
