STANTE, Gilda

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Gilda Stante (Nana).  She passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's at Fleming on Thursday, January 6, 2022, in her 100th year. Beloved wife of the late John Stante (d. 1984). Loving mother of Marie Garrett (Eldon), Donald Stante (Diane), Linda Fricker (Bruce deceased). The joy and love of her life were her grandchildren, Matthew Garrett (Manpreet), Jordan Fricker, Joseph Garrett (Zara), Nicholas Stante (Larissa), Alysia, Melissa and Sidney Fricker. Predeceased by her parents Donato and Irene Moscatello, siblings Florence DiIio, Nicolo Mosacatello, Margherita Masciangelo, Giovanni Moscatello, Annetta Seca, and Victorio Moscatello. Nana lived a long, full life having to endure many of the world's adversities the Depression, World War ll, moving to Canada when immigration was new. She taught us to persevere, have courage and to laugh.

Private family visitation. Friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 11 a.m.  Those wishing to attend the funeral are required to RSVP by calling the funeral home at 705-745-4612 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, all guests are required to have proof of full vaccination, along with government issued photo ID and wear a face covering to attend the funeral.
