DEVLIN, Gregory Keith – Peacefully on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre.  Greg was predeceased by his father Al Devlin 1983 and his mother Violet Devlin 2010.  Greg, aged 71, passed away after a nearly 15 year battle with inoperable stage 4 throat cancer.  If anyone deserves to Rest In Peace, it certainly is Greg.  No one, including his thoracic surgeon believed he could withstand the amount of radiation and chemotherapy he would need to put his cancer in remission, but Greg would not take no for an answer and managed to survive a punishing bout of treatment.  After he survived treatment for a few years he was unable to swallow food and needed a feeding tube which he accepted with grace and made fun of Thanksgiving by pasting a picture of a turkey on the side of his Assure food package.

Defining all odds he continued to work up until a couple of weeks before he passed away, leaving behind more friends and acquaintances than most of us will make in our lifetime.  Greg was loved by everyone who met him.  He had no enemies in life and had an infectious smile that captured the hearts of everybody.  He was exceptionally generous with everyone and never asked for anything in return.  It was hard to understand how he could love life so much when he was going through such a difficult struggle to survive.

Greg is survived by his wife, Mary Lynn (nee Shedden) and 3 older brothers, Wayne, Bob and Ken and his sister Nancy Reid (nee Devlin). Greg's final wishes were to be cremated, with his ashes being buried next to his mother and father at a family cemetery plot near Lakefield ON (at a date to be determined).  He Lived, He loved, He laughed, He Died.

A life well lived is a wonderful legacy to leave behind and we are sure the Angels welcomed Greg to heaven with open arms, giving us the assurance he is now finally resting in peace in the warm and happy company of his mother and father.  He can now Rest in Eternal Peace.
