SNIDER, James Clare (Jim)
At Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Hospital Drive on Monday, March 26, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer with his wife by his side, in his 51st year. Loving husband of Kay Hutcheon. Devoted father of Tanya Maver (Steve Mambretti), grandfather of Alyshia, Brodie, Christian and Alyssa. Son-in-law to Hugh Smith. Loving son of Betty Snider. Brother of Mary Dingman (John) and Wayne Snider (Diane Venne). Predeceased by father Clare Snider (2005) and adoring mother-in-law Marg Smith (2002). Jim worked as machinist for more than 22 years at General Motors in Oshawa. A devoted father and loving grandfather, Jim enjoyed spending time with his family, golf, fishing and following his favourite sports teams, the New England Patriots, Boston Bruins and Boston Red Sox. In his youth, Jim was an outstanding athlete, setting records and winning medals as a cross country runner and playing hockey and football. Visitation will be held at the DUFFUS FUNERAL HOME, 431 George Street South, Peterborough, from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2007. A service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Alliance Church, 1600 Sherbrooke Street, Peterborough, Ontario. Reverend Dwayne Campbell officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, designated towards stem cell research, would be appreciated by the family.
