BUCKLEY, Joseph William (Joe)

Surrounded by the love of his family, Dad passed away on his 74 ^th birthday, May 19, 2017 at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Palliative Care.  Cherished Dad to Shelley (Steve) Ray and Sheila (Adrian) Greco, proudest poppa and biggest fan and supporter to his grandchildren Cassidy, Kirsten and Kaitlyn Ray and Steven, Julia, Ryan and Erica Greco.  Predeceased by his parents Wellington (Willie) and Clara (Condon) Buckley and sister Anne-Marie Buckley.  Fondly remembered by his many cousins and friends.  Dad was a general contractor for most of his life and could put his hand to anything.  He loved what he did and loved any challenge that came his way, but he especially loved building, raising and moving houses and was so proud to share many working years with his daughters by his side.  His quiet times included spending time with his family, sleeping under a shade tree and being in the company of his faithful dogs, Jessie and Jack.

Visitation at DUFFUS FUNERAL HOME , 431 George Street South from  2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017.  (Parish Prayers 2 p.m. Thursday). Funeral Mass at ST. ALPHONSUS LIGUORI CHURCH on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 10 a.m.  Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Douro.  Many thank you's to his entire health care team over the years and so many thank you's to the team in the palliative care unit for the compassion and kindness that was given to Dad in his final days.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Peterborough or to your local Humane Society, as Dad had a great love of people and animals.  Online condolences may be made at www.duffusfuneralhome.com
