SHEEHAN, Leona Frances

Peacefully at Hospice Peterborough on June 30, 2019.  Beloved wife for 52 years of Bernard Sheehan. Dear mother of Barb (Rob) McDougall, Terry (Hilarie) and Pat (Mary).  Loving grandmother to Kayla (Pete), Tyler, Sophie, Evan, Charlie and Lexeigh.  Predeceased by her parents Leo and Elizabeth Keogan (nee Heffernan) and sisters Mary and Anne.  Survived by sisters Helen (Graham) Rignall and Linda Williams, many brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. Leona's love of nursing, quilting and crafts extended through her life. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in 1965 and worked predominately at St. Joseph's Hospital until her retirement from Peterborough Regional Health Centre in 1999.  She was a member of the C.W.L. of Our Lady of the Assumption Church. An avid quilter, she was also a member of the Kawartha Quilters Guild.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass that will be held at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CHURCH, 1830 Keene Road, Otonabee, on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 11 a.m. As per Leona's wish, there will be no visitation prior to the funeral. All are invited to a reception following the Mass at the Assumption Parish Hall.
