AYOTTE, Lucille Loretta

Lucille passed away peacefully at Ottawa Hospital, Civic Campus on Sunday, June 14, 2026 in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Raymond Ayotte (predeceased in 2018). Loving mother of Gary (Diane), Debbie and Denise (Rob). Dear grandmother of Katie (Sam), Paul and Harry.  Great grandmother of Lucy, Theo and Bryce.  Dear aunt of several nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents Daniel Dwyer and Minnie McCarthy and sisters Jean Moloney (Victor) and Veronica Dwyer, and brother Bernard Dwyer (Margaret). Also predeceased by her in-laws Eileen Wray (Gord), Harold Ayotte (Thalia), Marjorie Cain (Harold), Teresa Ayotte, Marie Hoey (Basil), and Frank Ayotte.

Lucille graduated from Peterborough Teacher's College when she was 18 and worked for the PVNC Catholic District School Board where she taught kindergarten for most of her career until she retired in 1997.  She and Ray were married for 59 years.  They met when her family moved to the village of Douro, when she was five and he was six.  After that they were rarely apart.  They were members of the Country Cruisers' Antique Car Club and loved to spend their free time attending car shows and flea markets.

Visitation at IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, 386 Rogers Street from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026 until time of Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow in Immaculate Conception Parish Hall. Interment to follow at a later date at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Douro.  In memory of Lucille, donations to the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Parish Elevator/Lift Fund or Five Counties Children's Centre would be appreciated by the family.
