Margaret Anne
Behan
Jun 3, 1925 — Oct 3, 2022
Peterborough
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear Aunt and friend, peacefully at St. Joseph's at Fleming, Peterborough on October 3, 2022. Born on June 3, 1925 in Grafton Ontario. Predeceased by her parents Ellen (Spellman) and John Joseph Behan, her sister Mary (Fred) and brothers Francis (Marj) and Joseph (Jean). Marg moved to Peterborough in the early 1940's. She was a pioneer in women's sports in the city; active in badminton, baseball, curling and golf, to name a few. Past member of PGCC and St. Peter-in-Chains. Margaret was a long time employee of Hunt Brothers and ISL Insurance Brokers. Aunt 'Babe' had a wonderful sense of humour and really enjoyed a good joke. She entertained us well into her nineties, by saying the alphabet - backwards! Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Eternally grateful for the love, support and care given to her by her great friend Sue Ahern and the companionship of many close friends, especially Jane Ann Thompson-McCaw and Marg Langtry (predeceased).
