Passed away peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, on Thursday, June 15, 2017 in her 78th year. Beloved wife of Reverend Robert Flowers. Loving mother of Miriam Langlois (Ross) of Kenora, Michelle Safadi (Gerry) of St. Thomas, and Mark Flowers (Heather) of Toronto. Dear sister of Roy Burchall (Sandy) of Kenora. Dear grandmother of Cody and Tanner Langlois, Amber Safadi, and Brendan, Eric, Kyle and Hannah Flowers.
Marolyn was born in Kenora, Ontario on March 30, 1940. She was a retired elementary teacher who worked in Toronto and Northern Ontario.
Marolyn also loved to travel. She went to England a few times, made many trips to Florida, went on a family Caribbean cruise and made many trips back to Kenora over the years. Recently she enjoyed local trips to visit her grandchildren.
Marolyn was devoted to the church and was involved in many aspects.
Marolyn's passion for crafts, sewing and knitting led her to quilting. She has been involved in quilting groups for about 40 years. Most recently she was a friend and member of the Kawartha Quiltmakers Guild and the Helping Hands group, providing quilts for palliative care, women's shelters and many others in need.
Visitation at DUFFUS FUNERAL HOME, 431 George Street South from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, June 23, 2017. Funeral Service at ST. LUKE'S ANGLICAN CHURCH , 566 Armour Road on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. Interment at Highland Park Cemetery.
