Obituary

MAHON, Peggy (Retired teacher and first woman chair of PVNC Catholic School Board and devout, longtime parishioner of St. Alphonsus Church.)

With a life well lived, in her 90th year, Peggy died peacefully in her sleep at Peterborough Regional Health Centre,on Thursday 10th March 2016. Peggy will be lovingly remembered as an outstanding friend and role model to all as wife (late, Larry [1988]), and mother to Greg (Stefanie), Judy, Mark (Joanne), Mary Jo (Andrew Ihor), Colleen, Tim, and Brian (Kelly). Grandmother to Jonathan (Rachel), Sarah (Brandon), Erika, Lauren (Mary), A.K., Kathleen, Luke, Zach, Ben, Kori, Brandon, and Kailey. Great-grandmother to Xavier. Daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Grogan) Walter and late sister, Martha. She also leaves her sisters-in-law Audrey and Lucille and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her dear friend Betty Dunlop, numerous friends and the 'lunch- bunch' girls. "Grandma Peg" loved being with people - young and old. She was devoted to her children and always enjoyed the company of their friends whether in Toronto, Peterborough or at her cottage of 80 years on Grace Lake.

Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Wednesday 16th March 2016 at St. Alphonsus Church, 1066 Western Ave, Peterborough, followed by interment at Highland Park Cemetery and a reception at St. Alphonsus Church hall. The family extends deepest gratitude to the staff on 4A and 2A at PHRC. Donations may be made to Food for Kids (St. Alphonsus School breakfast program) www.pcchu.ca or to the charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made at www.duffusfuneralhome.com. Peggy always made everyone feel welcome and special. What a great friend!
