SHAUGHNESSY, Reginald Gerard (Reg)

Died peacefully on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Canterbury Gardens in his 93 ^rd year. Beloved and faithful husband of Mary (nee Lynch d. February 28, 2016). Loving father of Jeannie, Teresa,  Reg (Alisha), Colleen and Judy (Jason). Dear grandfather of Sarah (Scott), Laird, Nevin, Myah, Connor, Zach, Kilty, Adea and Paddy. Great grandpa of Logan and Bella. Loving brother of Justin, Thomas (Marie), and Terry (Margaret) and brother-in-law of Rita, Marjorie and Darlene Shaughnessy and John Muldowney, and Albert Lynch (Marie). Reg had undaunting perseverance overcoming physical challenges from a young age having been born with club feet and having casts on his legs until he was eight years old. A hard working Farmer, along with his brother Paul, they worked together for 37 years showing remarkable courage creating a new enterprise to support their families with Lakehead Park and Barn Dance. Reg's ready smile, outgoing, kind and generous nature endeared him to many friends and relatives. He will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents James Shaughnessy and Loretta Fitzgerald and brothers William, Patrick (late Verna), John, James (late Albertha), Harry, Paul and Clare Shaughnessy, sister Helen Muldowney and sisters-in-law Estelle, Mary and Verna, Helen Pullyblank (late Robert), and Jack Lynch (late Virginia).

Visitation at DUFFUS FUNERAL HOME, 431 George Street South from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2019 (Parish Prayers 8 p.m. Thursday).
