Obituary

TAITINGER, Reverend Robert (Bob) William

Bob peacefully passed into the presence of his Lord and Saviour on May 12th, 2022 in his 96th year, surrounded by his adoring family. He leaves behind his cherished wife of 68 years, Shirley (nee Johnson) and children Renae Bundock, Rick (Melanie) Taitinger, and Richelle (Anthony) Ierulli. Loving Papa to grandchildren Kristen (Matthew) O'Coin, Tori and Nick Taitinger, Megan and Avery Ierulli, and great-grandchildren Lincoln, Ember and Ivy O'Coin. Beloved brother of Mary Lou Carpenter and Lois Foley. Uncle Bob will be dearly missed by his many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Harry and Jane Taitinger and his brothers Norris "Bud", Don, and Ken.

Bob was born on February 28th, 1927 in Claresholm, Alberta where he resided until moving to Edmonton to attend Canadian Northwest Bible Institute. His ministry began in 1948 during his second year of school when D. N. Buntain asked him to join the staff. He then went on to pastor Edmonton Central Pentecostal Tabernacle for 21 years. He was elected General Superintendent of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, a position he held for 14 years. He then assumed the position of President of Eastern Pentecostal Bible College (presently Master's College and Seminary) for 11 years until his retirement. At that time, he was awarded the distinction of President Emeritus. He came out of retirement to serve as Senior Associate Pastor at Mississauga Gospel Temple.

In their retirement years, Bob and Shirley spent their winters in Peterborough and summers at Lakeshore Pentecostal Camp where they met 71 years ago.

Bob was a gentle, kind, and humble man who never forgot a name and always made people feel important.  He was a wonderful mentor to many and lived his life with grace and integrity.
