It is with profound sadness that the family of Robert Gordon Curtis announce his passing at home, surrounded by the love of his family, on Friday September 30, 2022 in his 89th year. He is now at peace and reunited with the love of his life the late Mary Elizabeth (nee McDougall) (March 10, 2004).

Robert is predeceased by his parents William and Clara (Morgan).  Loving father of Lori, Robert Jr., Martin (Karen), Russell (Carol), Christopher (Amanda), Jason (Carol), Alana (predeceased Dave) Adams, Brent (Tammy) and Tyler (Derek).

Dear grandfather of Justin Sr, Nicole, Nicholas, Ashley, Madeline, Gregory, Tara, Shannon, Taunya, Robert, Riley, Payton, Michael, Shawn, Amanda, Alicia, Christina, Samuel, Hannah, Ryan, Bailey and Avery.

Robert's 14 great grandchildren (with one on the way) always brought a sparkle to his eye and joy in his heart.

Brother of (predeceased) Bill, Jim, Beatrice (Newhouse), Edwin, Albert, Helen and Garry.

Survived by sisters- in-law Bernice, Ada, Anne, Eileen, and Betty.

Loving brother-in-law to Harold (predeceased) (Marion) McDougall, Patricia (Bernard) Clancy and Anne (Robert) Webdale.

Special friend to Phyllis Ferguson and Lorna Crilly (predeceased).

Robert's abilities in the sport of lacrosse were recognized by his induction into the Peterborough Sports Hall of Fame, Ontario Lacrosse Hall of Fame and the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame. He will always be remembered for his many years of volunteer service to Peterborough minor sports.

The Curtis Family would like to express our appreciation to the Palliative Care Team whom enabled us to keep with dad's wishes of passing in his home of 62 years.

Visitation at DUFFUS FUNERAL HOME, 431 George Street South from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2022. Funeral Mass at IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 11 a.m. Interment at Highland Park Cemetery. Reception to follow in Immaculate Conception Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers and in memory of Robert, donations to Five Counties Children's Centre or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
