Obituary

WEISSHAAR, Roseline

December 11, 1932-September 26, 2022

It is with much love that we announce the passing of our dearest cherished mother, Roseline Louise Weisshaar (Stangl) born in Fife Lake, Saskatchewan. Roseline left an impact on all who met her. People marveled at her positivity, strength, determination, and patience.  She was comforting, supportive, and encouraging. She always knew the right thing to say. She would offer her opinion but was always willing to listen to others and to learn. She was intelligent, curious and interested in World News.

Roseline was predeceased by her husband, John Francis Weisshaar, who always, even after 58 years of marriage, still called her his bride.

Roseline was predeceased by her sisters Anna Dearman (Karl), Marlene Gartner, and Erna Pearson, her parents George and Gilfie Stangl, nephew Glen Dearman, in laws Don and Teresa Metz, Mary Ann and Bill Boll, Rose and Carl Weisshaar and many other family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters Letty Steranko (Brent) and Joan Walker (Don), her brother Wayne Stangl (Sharon), brother in law, Dennis Gartner, grandchildren Jaret Steranko (Courtney) Jesse Steranko (Arissa Sperou), Kalyn Steranko (Devin Holmes-Smith), Cole Walker, Dillan Walker, Frank Walker and Nikki Walker as well as her great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Sienna Steranko. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, and many dear friends who were like family.

Roseline loved her nursing career and was very proud to be a registered nurse. She studied in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and graduated at the top of her class and was the Valedictorian for her graduating year. As a young woman in 1957, Roseline travelled extensively and savoured her adventures overseas. After returning to working life, she married John in 1959, settling in to raise her family, participating fully in the community of Wilcox, as an active member of the CWL, but most of all, her entire devotion was to her family.

Letty and Joan are so very proud of their Mom. Mom was deeply respected and loved by so many. We will love you forever and miss you always. You will always be in our hearts. Until we meet again…

The Funeral will take place at 11 AM Saturday, October 15, 2022, at St. Martin of Tours Church, located at 513 Ennis Road in Ennismore, Ontario. There will be a reception and celebration to follow in the Parish Hall and all are welcome.

Interment of Mom and Dad's ashes will take place in Wilcox, Saskatchewan at a later date to be determined.

We would like to thank Peterborough Regional Health Centre and everyone for your love and support. Most sincere thanks and gratitude to Royal Gardens Retirement Home.

Please do not feel obligated, but if you wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Online Condolences can be made at www.duffusfuneralhome.com . Arrangements entrusted to Duffus Funeral Home 705-745-4612
