CLANCY, Theresa Eleanor

It is with profound sadness that we announce that Theresa Clancy died peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Saturday, March 16, 2024 in her 99th year. Loving mother of Patrick Clancy (Valerie) and Maureen Clancy (Richard Hamann). Dear aunt of many nieces and nephews and their families.

Predeceased by her parents Stephen O'Connor and Ellen O'Heron, brother Joseph O'Connor (Camilla) and sisters Clara Clancy (Joseph), Bertha Lynch (Cornelius), and Mary Hartwick (William).

Theresa lived a quiet unassuming life, always looking out for the well being of others before her own. She spent considerable time in volunteer activities in the community and in her parish.

Theresa had a deep religious faith nurtured for the first half of her life in Immaculate Conception Parish and then later in Sacred Heart Parish. In years past, she would be in regular attendance on parish/diocesan bus trips to Martyrs Shrine in Ontario and to Cap-de-la-Madeline in Quebec.

Theresa loved to travel with her siblings and her extended family, and, in later life enjoyed opportunities to see parts of Eastern Canada, the United States and Western Europe.

At Theresa's request there will no public visitation, prior to the funeral mass. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at SACRED HEART CHURCH on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 11 a.m. Following mass, interment will occur at St. Peter's Cemetery.

Immediately after the interment, all family and friends, especially any who could not attend the funeral mass, are invited to a reception at Duffus Funeral Home – Reception Centre. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or the charity of one's own choice would be appreciated by the family.
