MOLONEY, Timothy Crough
- In the highest spirit of thanksgiving for having been influenced by a man so rare, we are filled with sorrow to announce the death of Timothy Crough Moloney on July 29th, 2014. The dearly adored husband of Dorothy Crough for more than fifty seven years, they are reunited only ten days following Dorothy's death. Intensely proud of his children, Father Bill Moloney, Janet and Greg Shillinglaw, Randy and Lori Moloney, Colleen and Jim Shipley, Clair and Nancy Moloney and Tim and Theresa Moloney, he leaves them with the lessons to forge forth. Alongside Dorothy, Tim raised his children to know that each new day brings its own work, one's talents must be fostered and God made the back to bear the burden. The cherished, entertaining Grandfather of Jimmy, Ali, Jenna, Ben, Kirk, Molly, Janine, Carlie, Shauna, Alex, Shannon and Timmy, he has left them all with the gift of laughter and the knowledge that generosity of spirit should know no limit. Born on February 25th, 1928, Tim was the fifth child of Peter and Sarah Moloney. His formative years were fully lived on the family farm with his siblings Alice Kinlin (Jim), Mick Moloney (Kay), Homer Moloney (Lorraine), Mary O'Donnell (Pat) and Patricia Moloney, known to all who hold her most dear as Beck. Upon Tim's marriage to Dorothy, he was warmly welcomed into the Crough family by Dorothy's mother, Kathleen Crough (Ambrose d, 1950) and her siblings Norma and Joe Crossman, Betty and Eddie Doyle, Alma Crough, Eleanor and Bobby Young, Billy and Carol Crough, Geraldine and Bob Butterfield and Paul and Judy Crough. Beyond his family, Tim was first and foremost a farmer, with a deep connection to the land and the cycle of the seasons. Tim lived his entire life on the 100 acre farm settled by his parents in 1919. He was a noble steward of the land entrusted to his care and attached the highest value to his neighbours. Tim has cast a shadow across the land of his home that will never be built upon, harrowed over or ploughed under. For many years, Tim worked as the business agent for The Labourers Union, Local 597, employing the union motto "Live with Honour, Justice and Strength" as a template for his own life. A master story teller with a laugh that called all spirits to soar, Tim was a life giving force, the life of the party and a lifeline for so many. His firm handshake was a tangible expression of the joy he took in knowing others and his unique ability to engage. A faith filled member of Immaculate Conception Parish, Tim was devoted to the church his parents helped to raise.

Family and friends will be welcomed at DUFFUS FUNERAL HOME, 431 George Street South, Peterborough on Friday, August 1st from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m.. Tim's funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 2nd at 10:30 a.m. at IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, 386 Rogers Street, Peterborough. Burial will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Douro. Ever hopeful that Tim's lifelong church will endure the tests of time, donations to The Immaculate Conception Renovation Fund will be graciously accepted.
