JONES, William (Bill) Thomas (Sept. 22, 1921 – March 14th, 2012)
It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of our Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. In his 91st year, with his family at his side, he was received into the hands of God at PRHC. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary Irene (Betty) Primeau with whom he was married for over 57 years. He was the son of John and Catharine Jones (nee O'Dette). Last living Jones to his siblings, Joseph (Kay), Bernard (Frances), Margaret (Joe), Teresa, Kay (Edward), Muriel, Frances (Vic), Henry (Rita), Marie (Dub), Marcella (Grant), Robert (Theresa), and Paul and Mary. Loving father and father-in-law to: Thomas (Sue), Mary, Jim (Sylvia), Bernie (Gail), Stephen (Melva), Kathy (Tom), Beth (Bill), Margaret (Patrick), Christine (Paul), Angela (Michael). Cherished Grandfather and Great Grandfather to 38 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. He was in the RCAF in WW2, shot down, captured and became a prisoner of war for 2 ½ years. Upon his return from war, he married Betty Primeau. He started Jones Brother Fuel Oil with his brother Bernie. After an early retirement, he and Betty enjoyed time at their cottage on Chemong Lake, travelling and playing bridge. He was a 50 year member of The Knights of Columbus and a life time member of the Air Force Club. He was the founder of the Greenhill Co-op, where he built the family home and lived for over 57 years.
