Peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 in his 75th year. Beloved husband of Doris Monahan (Bertrand) and the late Shirley Monahan (Johnson). Loving father of Marilyn Hicks (Kevin) of Mississauga, Cathy Doherty (Steve) of Smithville, Janet Vacon (Brian) of Grimsby, Lorie Fiedorec (Stefan) of Peterborough and step-father of Greg Fontaine (Ruth) of Port Hope. Dear grandfather of Craig Hicks (Ingrid), Jennifer Netchay (Wes), Kaitlin Doherty, Adam Vacon, Andrew Nicholas- Fiedorec. Great-grandfather of Justin and Dylan Hicks. Dear brother of Bud (Muriel), Carl (Mary), Phyllis Sinfield (James), Norma Smith, Priscilla Radey, Karen Monahan, and Bernice Young (Wayne). Pre-deceased by his parents Joseph Earl Monahan and Lila Mildred Hartwick, sister Anne Marie Monahan, daughter Judith, and brothers-in-law Ray Radey and Harold Smith.

Visitation at DUFFUS FUNERAL HOME, 431 George Street South from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Friday. (Parish Prayers 3:45 p.m. Friday). Funeral Mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Otonabee on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 10 a.m. Reverend David West officiating. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
